Helping women transform their weight loss journey from one of strict deprivation to one that is compassionate, empowered, and sustainable.
I am available to deliver talks and workshops in group settings, whether that be workplaces, organisations, clubs, or other groups. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and what you're interested in me covering. Here's some examples of possible topics to give some ideas, but these can be tailored to suit your group:
General focus on the things we can do to improve health and wellbeing, and some of the ways in which to create healthy habits. This could also include talking about how we make decisions for our health and wellbeing, and how to use knowledge of the decision making process to help make decisions that align with health and wellbeing goals. Plus, setting goals for health and wellbeing: SMART versus open goals.
A lot of us probably know there are things we could do to be healthier day-to-day, and what those things are (Eat more veg? Exercise more? Sleep more?). The bigger challenge is usually how we go about making these changes in a way we can stick to. Often change can feel like a chore, rather than something positive we're doing for ourselves.
This talk focuses on how we can make changes that are practical and realistic, fitting in with our lives, and that we can maintain in the longer-term. This includes how we can re-frame our mindset to take some of the struggle or chore out of it and act with more self-compassion.
Diets are often ineffective, especially for long-term weight loss, and they can be harmful. In this talk, I cover why diets don't work and what we can do instead, to better support our health and wellbeing.
This could also cover diet culture and its harms, the impact of food advertising, and the problems of relying too much on willpower.
There's a LOT of health and wellbeing information out there, not all of it good. It can be really difficult to separate it all out and find the good quality information when it is needed. In this talk, I can provide some hints and tips on navigating the sea of information and how to critically evaluate information sources.
If you've got something health and wellbeing-related in mind that isn't mentioned here, please get in touch and I'll let you know if it's something I can cover.
